One thing that really sucks about being a designer nowadays is that there is no shortage of people who charge next to nothing for a design. It really can make life hard for someone who depends on design work for an income when there are these people undercutting the market rates and taking work away from people who are actually reliant on their design skill and know-how to pay their day to day bills.
Even worse still are the people who not only do the above, but also simply take the designs of others and make a half assed design out of a pre-made one and then get paid for it
As you can see in the example above of someone getting paid for a design that I actually made…not only that but that is our logo.
taking the ‘o’ from “glory” and putting in the “love” part doesn’t make it ok.
They even used the line from underneath at the bottom! Embarassing.Bad move, too.
So, as legal proceedings take place, we are working with In Fear And Faith (who had no idea about the infringement so are not at fault at all!) to replace this design with a new one.
Apparently this designer is from Indonesia, so Indo fam if you know this person you should tell them that they might want to get in touch with me, if you know what I mean.
So to all you budding designers out there, do us all a favour and learn what this industry is worth, what YOUR work is worth and charge accordingly. Do you want to be cheap street meat cart serving up half-assed recooked hot dogs, or a real solid restaurant serving up a gourmet meal?
And if you steal, you will get caught. How did this person think I wouldn’t see this? Using my design for one of my friend’s bands? Crazy. Good thing IFAF are such good dudes and want to sort this out just as much as I do.
Same goes for you guys buying designs, you really do get what you pay for.

It’s ‘designers’ like this which really grind on me when they rip off designs. I’ve had my work ripped off a few times, in fact just last week I had my baseball tee for the band For Love and Hate was stolen.
To steal a design, especially from a brand like this is outrageous and I hope the ‘designer’ is found and some sort of action be taken. It’s not clever, nor funny. It’s just ignorant.
